Several thoughts

Some things I was wondering about. Yesterday at church services, the preacher was talking about the lineage of Jesus and he started out with Adam. I don't remember the exact age but Adam had the son that would be the ancestor to Jesus when he was like 150! It's crazy and I know it's a common question among creationists, but why did they live so much longer back then? I've heard some pretty radical explanations before, including that the earth was shielded by a layer of water vapor high up in the atmosphere that protected them from harmful rays and that was where the water came from in the flood. Stuff like that. Something else that is interesting is I've also heard the theory that before the flood, there's a chance that their civilization was more advanced than we are now. There's possible evidence that they had anti-gravity devices, and no I haven't flipped my lid. Some of the ancient Mayan structures, I believe, had stones put in locations that wouldn't have been possible until recent mechanical innovations. I don't know, it's just weird to think about.
Okay second thing. haha back to the other subject, what's with this whole dating thing? What's the point of having a girlfriend or boyfriend when you are 15, 16, 17, or basically too young to get married. Is it because we imitate the act of looking for a spouse, or is it because it's what is the common practice now days? I mean I'm not saying that I wouldn't like a girlfriend, but yeah, just curious again...

Living Long

Yes. to answer the question of the living long thing, "Scientists" (whoever they may be) think the reason we don't live as long as we used to is because we somehow (either by asteroid striking earth or some other means) we were affected by some kind of radiation, as a Christ-Follower i think it was all in the grand scheme of things. Back in biblical times some of those people were just living too long, so God said, "ill throw an asteroid down there and fix that problem" or like what Chris said about the flood thing.

The Flood

my standing on the flood is that... people just had not spread out on the earth yet, my personal belief is that it was a regional flood. I'm not saying that it wasn't a massive flood, it was. Now. i'm not saying that the earth wasn't wetter in its younger years, i'm just saying what i think. PANGEA ANYONE?

Technology

ahh yes, ancient tech stuff. get this. they (who the heck is they you may be asking, to answer your question... i forgot) found this little ancient artifact that was in the shape of a funny looking little plane. it was pretty sweet. anyway i still wonder, if the ancients had all this sweet tech stuff, where did it all go?

I liked your answer for the living long thing. Well and when you stop and think about it, there was a need for people to live so long back then. I mean think about it, it was up to Adam and Eve to populate the whole earth, and they couldn't have done that if they lived a max of 80 years. So seriously, I'd like to know how many kids they actually had. Also God probably did intervene, whether directly or indirectly on our lifespan. I mean can you imagine if everyone still lived to 400? Dude the earth would have several trillion people at least. So as much as we don't like it, and as long as we're populating only one planet (in the future it might be different) the whole shorter life thing is good in the long run.

Actually, there IS a reason why lifespans decreased after the flood (which I believe covered the world). Unfortunately, I have forgotten it, but I *think* one of these videos has it: http://drdino.com/downloads.php

Dating when you're not ready to marry isn't a good thing, because there IS no point. :)
